Lord of the Flies by William Golding

The haunting and sometimes terrifying story of a group of schoolboys whose plane crashes on a desert island. A remarkable and beautifully written book that children can learn so much from reading.

Note about this planning: All of our Shakespeare and More English units are built around key objectives from the 2014 English National Curriculum for children aged 10-11.  Whatever the curriculum you follow, we hope you'll find them useful.

Note: Lord of the Flies gets a bit scary and a bit sad at times. At Shakespeare and More, we don't think these are bad things for children to encounter, but you might not agree. It's not for everyone at primary school, but we love teaching it.
