The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

Picture
This unit gives children the opportunity to write stories and poems, as well as writing and performing play scripts. They'll also get to enjoy one of the best-loved children's books of all time. Surely every child should have the chance to share in the adventures of Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad?

Note about this planning: All of our Shakespeare and More English units are built around key objectives from the 2014 English National Curriculum aimed at children aged 8-11, but our units are downloaded and used by teachers from all over the world.

Perfect for teaching the book, we've even got the page numbers.

If you don't want the notes (or annoying comments).

Shakespeare and More The Wind in the Willows Unit- The Complete Works
Everything you need to teach The Wind in the Willows- all the planning, extracts and other bits and pieces you might need- it even includes some rather lovely pictures.

To teach this unit you may need:
The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
You can get this from pretty much any book shop in the world, but try to get one with the EH Shepherd illustrations, they're so beautiful. The page numbers in the planning come from the Egremont version here, but any version will do, we're sure you'll work it out.
The Wind in the Willows (1983)
So lovely and so useful for teaching this unit. If you don't want to buy it, you can find it on YouTube.
The Wind in the Willows (2007)
A very funny version, and very faithful to the text. As you can imagine, Matt Lucas makes a perfect Mr Toad.
